A truly superb piece of Chinese export eggshell porcelain from one of the finest periods of production, this jewel-like tea bowl and saucer are masterfully potted and painted, decorated in famille rose enamels with a pheasant amongst flowering peony within a leaf-shaped reserve against a grisaille cellwork ground with finely rendered foliate details and border. The saucer 4 1/2″ in diameter, the tea bowl 2 7/8″. Very, very faint lines to the bottom of the saucer, otherwise fantastic quality. Yongzheng period, circa 1730.  $3600.
