A very fine Chinese export porcelain 12″ punch bowl decorated in famille rose enamels with various views of a fox hunt running through a landscape. The interior is centered with an image of a hunter pounding across the turf. The images almost certainly taken from sporting prints of the period. ¬†Bowls of this type were imported into England, as well as the American mid-Atlantic states where an English aristocratic lifestyle and its pursuits were emulated. Measuring 12″ in diameter and in good condition with the exception of a 3 1/4″ line sealed. Circa 1760-1780.
