A rather striking Chinese export porcelain Qianlong period charger of impressive size and elegant decoration depicting an exotic bird perched upon rockwork amongst peony and bamboo all painted in underglaze blue with gilding. In excellent condition with little or no wear whatsoever to the gilding. Slight rim roughness in spots to the reverse, evidence most likely of an old wall mount. Measuring 16 3/4″ and dating to the mid-later 18th century.
