A fantastic pair of Chinese export porcelain Mandarin jardinieres of impressive size and presence, measuring 9″ tall and 11″ in diameter, and decorated in a rich famille rose palette with a vibrant and highly detailed continuous courtly scene running around the body of each piece. Featuring court officials and noble ladies and gentlemen on garden terraces and before pavilions in a lush landscape, both jardinieres so skillfully painted that they are a perfectly matched pair. A traditional and colorful dragon border adorns the lip of the flared rim. In remarkably fine condition considering their utilitarian purpose with no discernible chips, breaks or restorations. Circa 1825.
