A wonderful form, these Chinese export porcelain bough pots with their original covers ¬†are meticulously decorated with Mandarin scenes and landscape vignettes in reserve against a light peach ground overlaid with a gilded latticework with white enameled flower heads, gilded handles with palmette drops complete the design. Originally used to force bulbs and flowering branches, these lovely objects still make a dramatic statement on any chimney piece today. One corner to one base in need of some professional restoration and a chip to one handle, otherwise in good condition. Measuring 8 1/2″ tall x 6 1/2″ square and dating to circa 1790-1810.
