A very fine Chinese export porcelain oval platter decorated in famille rose enamels with a highly detailed scene of what appears to be a Mandarin warrior being dressed in his armor by an elegant lady, who is also in armor, while their attendants and standard bearersĀ  await with their horses. The surrounding border is equally colorful and animated with butterflies amongst gourds and melons and scrolling gilded vines. Measuring 8 3/4″ x 11 1/2″ and in very good condition. Circa 1810-1820.
