A wonderful example of a Chinese export porcelain drum teapot with double strap handles made for the American market bearing an eagle design based upon an early version of the Great Seal of the United States. There are close to a dozen versions of this design and this is one of the more desirable renderings with the eagle supporting a striped shield. Measuring 5″ x 9″ and with some restoration to the handle and rim with a  small line on the shoulder of the pot, otherwise good condition with a finely rendered eagle on both sides of the pot.  Circa 1800. $1,850.00
