A very fine Kangxi period Chinese export porcelain covered wine cup, decorated in underglaze blue with a charming scene of two scholars with their horses, the cover painted with two frolicking boys, the base with an artemsia leaf. The beautiful cobalt blue of the design is set off perfectly against the addition of gilt silver mounts.  Faint rim hairlines sealed, otherwise very good condition – just a little jewel of a piece.  4 1/2″ tall x 3 1/2″ in diameter. Circa 1690.  $1,775.00
