An especially fine pair of Chinese export porcelain teapots, of a little larger size than one usually sees at this period, decorated in the Imari palette of underglaze blue, iron red and gilding, hand-painted with branches of peony and chrysanthemums, a ruyi border around the lids which are decorated with prunus sprigs. Very good condition and measuring 4 1/4″ x 7″ and dating to circa 1730. Ex-Chait Collections.
